MALAYSIA 1MDB – Former Malaysia PM Najib loses 1MDB conviction appeal

Spain, UK

A Malaysian court on Wednesday upheld former prime minister Najib Razak’s 12-year prison sentence for seven corruption charges linked to state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

In a virtual hearing, due to one of Najib’s defence team contracting Covid-19, Malaysia’s Court of Appeal unanimously rejected the appeal of the convictions handed down in the High Court in July last year.
